Verizon Wireless 4G Network Coming Soon

4G is the next generation of wireless high-speed communications.  Verizon will intitially sell data cards for the 4G high-speed network, and 4G phones should start to become available in the market by mid-2011.

Verizon has said that with the launch of the superfast 4G network, due this summer, they will need to shift from unlimited plans to a more standard tiered usage model.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Anthony Melone, Verizon Wireless CTO,  hinted that the biggest issue with rolling out a 4G network is all-you-can-eat data plans.

“As much data as you can consume is the big issue that has to change,” the CTO said.

Now may be the time to lock into an unlimited plan before the model changes.
